Howdy -- what happens if you click the "Updates and New" option in the Package Updates screen? I'm curious if those two packages show up in there for some reason.

It showed this:

how come this didn’t show before? Is it because I finally installed virtualmin pro?
thanks

I just remembered, and this might help tshoot this. rsyslog is 8.x, installed via a 3rd party repo. I get the email to update it, but it isnt there.

Try also clicking "Refresh Available Packages" and see if that makes a difference.
Submitted by eddieb on Mon, 11/17/2014 - 11:11 Comment #5
I tried that before I contacted you guys. refresh says it found 2 packages, but when i go back to the install page it gives me "No packages available to be updated were found."

Ok, and in the Package Updates module it doesn't show the
rsyslog
package as being updatable? That is quite surprising, as the available version
8.4.2.ad1
is definitely newer than8.4.2
according to Virtualmin's version comparison algorithm.Submitted by eddieb on Mon, 11/17/2014 - 20:50 Comment #9
that is correct. do you need access to the system to figure out what the problem is? this has happened a couple times with other packages, but I ended up updating via manual YUM.
please advise

Yes, remote access would be really useful.

Ok, I have found and fixed the bug - it was an error in the way Virtualmin compares version numbers. This has been patched on your system, and the fix will be included in the next release.
