Howdy -- what happens if you click the "Updates and New" option in the Package Updates screen? I'm curious if those two packages show up in there for some reason.

I just remembered, and this might help tshoot this. rsyslog is 8.x, installed via a 3rd party repo. I get the email to update it, but it isnt there.

thanks

Try also clicking "Refresh Available Packages" and see if that makes a difference.

I tried that before I contacted you guys. refresh says it found 2 packages, but when i go back to the install page it gives me "No packages available to be updated were found."

Can you post the output from the command yum info rsyslog ?

> yum info rsyslog

Ok, and in the Package Updates module it doesn't show the rsyslog package as being updatable?

That is quite surprising, as the available version 8.4.2.ad1 is definitely newer than 8.4.2 according to Virtualmin's version comparison algorithm.

that is correct. do you need access to the system to figure out what the problem is? this has happened a couple times with other packages, but I ended up updating via manual YUM.

please advise

Yes, remote access would be really useful.

please send your public key.

thanks

Ok, but what's your IP address?

kvm1.mattermedia.com, please tend to the other urgent ticket first!

Ok, I am in. Can I also create a Virtualmin login to check out the package upgrade problem?

ok. you can sure create an user. do i need to disable 2fa for you to get in?

No, but you may need to open up port 10000 on your firewall.

Ok, I have found and fixed the bug - it was an error in the way Virtualmin compares version numbers. This has been patched on your system, and the fix will be included in the next release.

can I disable your access now?
