I have Virtualmin running on a VPS (Linode). How would I set up LDAP on this server? (The server runs Ubuntu).
A step-by-step would be great :D
Howdy,
Well, before we get too far -- I'll offer that we tend to only recommend LDAP if you really need it :-)
That is, if you're managing many users across multiple servers, or you have thousands, perhaps tens of thousands, of users on a given server.
Outside of that, it's tough to recognize a benefit to LDAP -- and LDAP brings a decent layer of complexity with it.
If you're interested in LDAP though, you can use the following guide to install and configure it:
http://www.virtualmin.com/documentation/id%2Ccombining_virtualmin_and_ldap
Thanks, and, the reason I need it, is I have multiple servers, that I would like to be updated simulteneously. Setting up a very complex Multi-server setup.
