sasld (to disable or not to disable, that is the question)

Hi,

Is it safe to disable "sasld" when not using the server email?

Or is there other programs that rely on this daemon, if so what are they?

*** working on slimming down the system, and turning off any unneeded daemons ***

Hi Peter,

On a default setup, saslauthd is only used in order to allow users to authenticate while sending email via Postfix.

If you don't need that feature, you should be able to disable that service.
