MySQL 5.7: System Variables

When going into "MySQL System Variables" we receive the message: "SQL show variables failed : Table 'performance_schema.session_variables' doesn't exist"

Answer: When upgrading from 5.6 to 5.7 remember to run:

mysql_upgrade
