Which package contains
/etc/openldap/ldap.conf
on your system? You can find out with the command :rpm -q -f /etc/openldap/ldap.conf

I think that is the wrong LDAP config file for use by NSS.
You should install the packages
nss-pam-ldapd
andpam_ldap
, which contain the file/etc/ldap.conf
that is used when authenticating users.Submitted by utweb-systems on Thu, 01/09/2014 - 20:11 Comment #6
I have those packages as well:
[root@ut-dev-mgmt-01 ~]# yum install pam_ldap nss-pam-ldapd Loaded plugins: fastestmirror Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile * base: mirror.compevo.com * extras: centos.mirror.lstn.net * updates: centos.gravityfish.com Setting up Install Process Package pam_ldap-185-11.el6.x86_64 already installed and latest version Package nss-pam-ldapd-0.7.5-18.2.el6_4.x86_64 already installed and latest version Nothing to do [root@ut-dev-mgmt-01 ~]#

Ok, thanks - it looks like that config file has moved in newer CentOS versions. I will have Webmin looks in both places in the next release.
