The same as in issue https://www.virtualmin.com/node/14569 problem again. new version of bind appeared in debian lenny repos, and after update I've got the same issue - bind is running correctly, but virtualmin doesn't recognize it.. Any ideas? location of PID has been changed again?

Believe it or not, they changed the PID file location back again!
The fix is to go to Webmin -> Servers -> BIND DNS Server -> Module Config -> System configuration , and set Default PID file location to : /var/run/named/named.pid

That pid location is IF you are running it under chroot otherwise see https://www.virtualmin.com/node/14569#comment-64196

sgrayban,
Are you running it under chroot now or using the other location?

I don't run bind chrooted -- The pid location Jamie posted is for chrooted bind... the link I gave is for non-chroot

Okay, thanks. I'm doing the same. Was wondering whether to change to Jamie's location but don't really see I need to as everything is running ok.

There is no Module Config -> System configuration under WEBMIN > BIND DNS Server.
Please give correct path.

Howdy -- those options should be there in "BIND DNS Server".
When in BIND DNS Server, there should be a Module Config option on the top-left of the page.
Then, next to where it says "Configuration category", there's a drop-down list which defaults to "BIND Paths".
If you select that drop-down list, "System Configuration" should be the last option in the list.
