How to create a sub-server

This tutorial will cover how to create a sub-server, allowing for a second domain to be setup within a given Virtual Server account. A sub-server is also the recommended way to create a sub-domain website that is owned by the parent domain. Sub-servers are not limited to sub-domain names, but they work well for hosting sub-domains.

It assumes you have first logged into Virtualmin.

How to create an auto-responder

This tutorial will cover how to create an email auto-responder for a user within Virtualmin.

An email auto-responder is an automated reply that will be sent to anyone sending an email to the account.

It assumes you have first logged into Virtualmin.

  1. Choose the domain you would like to add the email account to. You can do that by selecting the domain name from the drop-down box on the top-left.

  2. Choose Edit Users.

Troubleshooting Common Installation Problems

Installation Troubleshooting

Most installation problems are related to having third party repositories enabled, attempting to run the install script on an unsupported operating system, and sometimes network connectivity.

Installation "Freezes" and Never Completes

Check the /root/virtualmin-install.log. It is possible that your package manager is configured to use a local CD ROM device for packages, and the disk is unavailable. Another possibility is that connections to one or more repositories are timing out, and causing the system to install packages very slowly.
