virtualmin-base-1.0-61.rh.noarch) scriptlet failed

Any info would be greatly appreciated. I ran the VirtualMin Installer and it ran great... it got about past 3/4 mark and then kicked back with an error and deleted itself.

I don't know what would cause this. I should have enough memory / so I don't think that is the problem [384mb] The only thing I can think of is: I did run and try to configure a straight Webmin install beforehand and then ran the uninstaller etc/uninstall Any insight as to what I need to clear or get some results to give it another go would be helpful.

Thank you so much in advance and for the awesome software.

** UPDATE **

I ended up deleting the server all together. /

Then starting with a new rebuild of CentOs 5.3

Then doing a fresh install of Virtualmin.

/ This time it powered through completely and
installed successfully. /

My guess is ?* problems with prior webmin install *

nonetheless / - I am up and running
(for at least 5 mins :-)

Thanks!

Thanks for the update!

Unfortunately, the current install script does not handle oddities gracefully, or with much useful logging or error output. I'm rewriting it in my copious free time, and the new version will be dramatically more helpful in the event of a problem. In the meantime, the best idea is to always start with a freshly installed OS (that'll probably always be the best idea, but at least in the new version it'll at least tell you why you shouldn't have poked around before trying to install Virtualmin). ;-)
