I have a Ubuntu 8.04 server running GPL Virtualmin. Is there a recommended firewall? I've used Shorewall for many years, but I'm wondering if there's something else that is a better fit.
Shorewall is nice due to the Webmin module...
Thanks.
I use shorewall
I have a few cPanel servers and use CSF. I found that he also wrote a webmin module that seems to play well with the Virtualmin setup.
You can check it out here: http://www.configserver.com/cp/csf.html
I enjoy Shorewall as well.
Not only is there a Webmin module, but Shorewall is nice and easy to admin when you want to log in over SSH and fire up vi :-)
Have a good one,

brute force can be handled by a dozen different ways.
denyhosts.sf.net is one way and most distro's now carry this
