mails not being delivered to hotmail

I am having trouble with the mail server. I can send mails to some addresses (like gmail) but not to hotmail. Is there any type of configuration that is needed for hotmail or any place I can look to check for any error when sending the mails?

Is this a usual beheviour?

thank you

Lots of ISPs are starting to throttle email from servers and you can only send so many per hour for an IP, that or if someone marks mail from your server as spam the give your server a 24 hour stand by. Make sure you have rDNS setup and SPF records. --They will go a long way in preventing email headaches.

I have SPF records, they were setup by virtualmin.

HOw do I check for rDNS and how do I check if they it was correctly setup?

thank you

Use host to lookup the IP of your server. If it responds with some sort of name, then you have reverse DNS.

For example, I would use:

# host 70.86.4.238

Note that it doesn't matter what name is returned, as long as something sane comes back. We've never bothered to request a change of ours, which is ee.4.5646.static.theplanet.com.

I have asked my ISP to change the reverse dns and it has been done.

I don't know if that's the reason, but my mails are getting through, but to the junk folder...What can I do to prevent this from happening?I don't want my clients to have their mail not correctly delivered...
