About that, I'm a huge fan of the OVH company, they're French but they have dedi centers in France, UK and USA, with matching offers, in .Fr .Co.Uk and US.
They'll offer the super expensive super powerful dedis any other company will have, sure, but they'll also make a difference with their discount offers that are much superior to the competition in that budget price range.
An example, for 10€ a month, you have 2TB, a weak but not sucky cpu (atom 2800), and 4 GB of RAM.
Their pricing is split into websites, so it's kinda confusing, ovh.com for the "enterprise grade" offers (most expensive), soyoustart.com for the mid-range, and kimsufi.com for the low-cost but surprisingly good offers. On either of those three websites, click the flag in the upper-right to change language and see the localized offers.
