Im trying the use the backup facility in virtualmin 3.46 gpl but my username for the ftp backup is in the format
im assuming the '@' is causing the issue as the returned error is
Backup failed : Invalid characters in FTP server login
Anyone know of a way round this?

I'm not sure about a solution to this one, as the @ traditionally tells an FTP client what server to login to...so it has special meaning. But that's somewhat arbitrary and depends on the client rather than the server.
I'll ask Jamie to chime in, as we're probably going to have to deal with it at the Webmin/Virtualmin level, since it's the client in this case.

I checked the code, and it is possible for Virtualmin to support @ in FTP usernames. This will be allowed in the next release..
