VirtualMin failed connect MariaDB

Hello After installing a new Debian 9 server with a MariaDB, I noticed trouble using VirtualMin to set the database. Every time I wanted to modify the setting the MariaDB broke. I had to use a backup. Then I noticed that the MariaDB was no recent 10.1 and decided to upgrade to the 10.3. Il thought that this would correct the problem. I eventually erase the MariaDB and installed the recent version. But on the VirtualMin and Webmin it became worst. VirtualMin can recognize MariaDB but cannot connect to MariaDB anymore :

Message in VirtualMin MySQL Database Server | MySQL version 10.3.11
MySQL is not running on your system - database list could not be retrieved. The full MySQL error message was : DBI connect failed : Plugin 'unix_socket' is not loaded

And when creating a site in Weblin : Creating MySQL database new .. .. MySQL database failed! : mysql::execute_sql_logged failed : DBI connect failed : Plugin 'unix_socket' is not loaded at /usr/share/webmin/web-lib-funcs.pl line 1478.

I start to understand that the management of MariaDB is different to mySQL. Is there a way to adapt VirtualMin in order to use MariaDB ? Is this better to change from MariaDB to mySQL ?

Thanks for any help ;-)
