I want to reinstall Windows Xp soon, as I got a virus and after cleaning the computer doesn't work as smooth as before. I gives some strange erros and sometimes it justs hangs up... I want to backup Outlook Express emails and settings before reinstall, and restore afterwards. Any help?
Howdy Samuel,
This is kind of outside of my expertise...but one possibility would be setting your Outlook Express up to use IMAP for mail. Then you can (I guess...I don't use Outlook Express, so there might be some kind of limitation on this in that particular client...but it'd work in Thunderbird) copy your mail from your local mailbox to your server IMAP mailbox. But that's just me looking for a server-side, general purpose, solution to the problem.
I'm sure there's a way to back up Outlook Express mail locally. I don't know what that way is, though. ;-)
But, out of all the clever folks on these forums, I bet somebody else here knows.
