Can't retrieve mail via SMTP and gmail

Hi :)

I'm trying to add my mailaddress to gmail (or another mail-client). Pop3 works fine.

Sadly I can't get SMTP working. I get this error message: Authentication failed. Please check your username/password. Server returned error: "Unspecified Error (SENT_SECOND_EHLO): Smtp server does not advertise AUTH capability, code: 0"

Did I configure something wrong? How can I debug this?
