Hiho!
I have a server with a SSD and a Hard Disk. /home is located on the SSD. Can I move e g. the "homes" subdirectory of each homedir automatically to the HD? Maybe with a symlink: /home/domain1/homes -> /home_on_hd/domain1/homes ? Could there be any pitfalls?
Thanks! Andy
Hi Andy, I have similar setup for my git repos where virtualmin runs on ssd but all users /home folders are moved to 6TB normal hdd (usb mount) as repositories takes lot of space. I would not recommend to move subfolders to another hdd and leave /home folders on ssd as that can lead to some anomalies plus security.... I would suggest you to move whole /home to new hdd for domain you need it. I think there is some manual in virtualmin or webmin documentation on how to do this and they also recommend to move entire /home folder if I remember correctly.
