I an running virtualmin xxx and webmin xxx on a CentOS 6.9 AWS server. I am not processing any inbound mail on the server and maintain tight control over outbound mail, so have no requirement for spam/virus filtering. I periodically have issues with ClamAV updates and tried to disable it.
I have verified that Spam Filtering and Virus Filtering are disabled in Virtualmin/System Settings/Features and Plugins, and checked that no domains are using these features. I have verified that clamd is not enabled in Webmin/System/Bootup and Startup. However, freshclam is running every morning between 03:20 and 03:40. Webmin/System/Scheduled Cron Jobs had "/usr/share/spamassassin/sa-update.cron 2>&1 | tee -a /var/log/sa-update.log" but that appears to be running on a different schedule.
I finally found /etc/cron.daily/freshclam and removed it. Is there a way to disable freshclam through Virtualmin/Webmin?
Thanks, Norbert
Hi,
"freshclam" is run via a cron job.
Webmin > System > Scheduled Cron Jobs
If it's listed on this screen with the "Active" set to "Yes", simply edit an change it to "No".
