How to enable quotas?

In System Settings -> Server Templates, for Default Settings -> Mail for Domain, I have put in 500Gb for users. Did it a LONG time ago.

but all my users have so much more emails. I one user with over 5Gb, my server keeps filling up. I cant see how to enforce this 500Gb, with email reminders etc.

if I go to edit the user in virtualmin, there is a tab "Quota and home directory settings" but it only shows "Home directory" not quota.

If I Recheck Configuration it says: "Quotas are not enabled on the filesystem / which contains home directories under /home and email files under /home. Quota editing has been disabled."

If I go to Webmin -> System -> Disk Quotas, it shows: / Linux Native Filesystem SCSI device A User and group quotas inactive Enable quotas But clicking the green Enable Quotas button doesn't do anything.

My server is with Linode, a cloud server provider, is it something to do with the VPS I have? How can I enforce quotas, its getting a bit ridiculous the amount of emails I have for people on the basic cost they pay. I am having to email them to ask if they can delete or archive email but they dont do it.

Thanks Laurence

It seems most VPS providers don't enable quotas in the kernel. You can do one of three things as I see it: Ask them to enable quotas, move to a service that has them enabled (if you can find one), or move to a dedicated server where you can control things yourself.
