Cloudmin + Xen on Debian 9 stretch

Hey guys!

I am using cloudmin 9.2 GPL on an Debian 7 wheezy with Xen since two years for internal purposes.

Now I installed an current Debian stretch in order to do a lifecycle.

But as far as I can see this will not work due to

  • deprecated documentation

https://www.virtualmin.com/documentation/cloudmin/installation/automated -> https://www.virtualmin.com/serial = 404

  • major changes with xen module parts @ kerbel 4.9.0-3-amd64 - afaik no need of a kernel replacement as xen ins implemented in 4.9 I remember that there is an install routine for xen kernel and xen linux system...

  • my personal incompetence due to missmatching cloudmin with virtualmin ;-)

  • xm replaced by xm

My current status is: I got an up and running xen Dom0: xl list Name ID Mem VCPUs State Time(s) Domain-0 0 24164 16 r----- 2430.2

What kind of install package can I use for my stretch install? The install instructions and installers seems to be deprecated.

Kind regards Jan

I'll be working on Debian 9 support for the Cloudmin installer in a few days, once Vritualmin 6 is out the door. It should mostly work as-is though. The docs aren't deprecated, they've just got a broken link. The Software Licenses page is on your Account page under the Software Licenses tab, but if you're installing Cloudmin GPL you don't need the serial numbers page at all. The download links for Cloudmin GPL are in the sidebar here: http://www.webmin.com/cloudmin.html (I'll merge them into the Virtualmin site for the Cloudmin 10 release in a couple of months, as everything is getting a major overhaul, docs included.)

I don't know what this means. What's the error and where do you see the error?

Both xm and xl are supported in current versions of Cloudmin. Not sure why this question keeps popping up (you're not the first to bring it up, but I haven't seen any problems using xl or xm). Is there an error when you try to use xl? Where do you see it?
