Why is my Virtual Server not working...

Hi there,

I run: - Red Hat Linux Fedora Core 4 - Apache 2.0.54 - Webmin 1.220 - Virtualmin 2.601

When I create a virtual server it seems to work fine. from another (windows) pc I enter the new domain-address (i've put it in the host-file too, so it will know the ip of the server) but the browser keeps ending at the default site, NOT the virtual server site.

Any ideas? How can I test what is going wrong?

Can anyone confirm that the combination that I use (see above) should work fine?

Thanx!

The combination of components should work fine together.

Maybe there's something wrong with the NameVirtualHost directive (or you don't have one)? I was thinking this now got setup automatically, but maybe I misremember.

You can check your log to see what is being requested. The httpd access log will be /var/log/httpd/access_log.

Note also that if you don't have content in your virtual host public_html, you will get the default setup page "Fedora Core Test Page" just because that's what Apache is configured to fall back to by default. Adding index page content will make it go away.
