Hello,
So far Webmin/Virtualmin has been a great addition to my Administration tools. I'm writing because I feel the LDAP module is missing a bit of love and I have had quite a few issues getting to this point but I have hit a roadblock.
I have setup the client as per https://www.virtualmin.com/documentation/id%2Ccombining_virtualmin_and_ldap
But upon validating the client config I get the following:
Finding LDAP base for users ..
.. found base dc=comegamewith,dc=me.
Connecting to LDAP server ..
.. connected to 127.0.0.1
Searching for users ..
.. no users found under base dc=comegamewith,dc=me.
This happens although the Search bases appear to be properly set within the config. The only way I can get it to recognize the user is if I set the Global base to dc=Users,dc=comegamewith,dc=me or change to Entire Subtree.
Even then it claims the user doesn't exist, even after restarting webmin.
I have attached a screenshot of the search bases.
Status:
Closed (fixed)

Thanks for reporting this - the config check doesn't handle the new-style LDAP client format properly, resulting in this error. It will be fixed in the next Webmin release though.

I see,
Thanks for that info and for the reply in general. I'll be sure to pick up a license to support this project.
