Hello,
I have 2 Virtualmin servers. One older (Centos 6) and the new one Centos 7. On the old system I have the following settings on the domains:
1) Passwords are saved in the configuration and can be seen from control panel 2) Usernames are not in the form of user@domain.tld
I want to move those accounts from the old to the new (via backup-->restore method) and -as you guess it- I want to:
1) Have password in encrypted mode so the cannot be seen from the CP & 2) Change the usernames format to user@domain.tld.
All those without losing the mailboxes of course as they are full of data. Can this be done or I have to create the accounts in the new system from scratch?
Any advice is welcome! Thank you
Howdy,
When restoring a backup onto a new server, the usernames are re-created using the settings within the Server Templates.
So it's no problem to change the username format, which can be done in System Settings -> Server Templates -> Default -> Mail for Domain.
