Spam Assassin Not Working

Is spam assassin ready to go once Webmin has been installed? If not, what do I need to do? I did a Google search and am now even more confused than ever. It seems everyone has different advice. Thanks. Andrew

Update: I found this: http://doxfer.webmin.com/Webmin/SpamAssassin_Mail_Filter

Not really helpful for those of us who do not know what an action is. Does the above link mean that I will need to some config?

Howdy -- just to clarify, did you install Virtualmin, using the install.sh? Or just Webmin?

If Virtualmin was installed, then you should have SpamAssassin available.

I installed with the .sh. My confusion is due the link I provided. Where do I add the actions? Are they necessary? Andrew

The documentation you're looking at is largely for people who only have Webmin installed, and don't have the benefit of Virtualmin. It's also for Virtualmin users who wish to poke around "under the hood" a bit.

It's not necessary to do anything with all that though.

Since you're using Virtualmin -- to enable SpamAssassin, all you need to do is make sure the "Spam Filtering" feature is enabled in Virtualmin for that Virtual Server.

You can see that in Edit Virtual Server -> Enabled Features.

If Spam Filtering is enabled, then SpamAssassin will be working for that domain.

Thanks for the clarification. Andrew.
