Restore a backup to a new domain?

I have my domains backed up as tar.gz

Is there a way to restore one of the tar.gz backups to a new domain? I can't figure out how. I let an old domain expire, I want to buy a new domain and bring back the old site.

Howdy,

There isn't a way to restore it to a new domain.

However, you could always restore it at the original domain, and then rename it using Server Configuration -> Change Domain Name.
