FTP backups and -p

Hi does Virtualmin use passive mode by default?

Having some problems with my provider, they tell me I must use the -p when uploading to their ftp backup area.

If not where can I add the parameter?

Howdy,

Well, a "-p" parameter would actually be dependent on the FTP client being used. In the case of Virtualmin, the FTP code is actually built into Virtualmin itself, it isn't relying on another client to perform the FTP transfer.

However, reviewing the code, it does actually look like Virtualmin enables passive mode. In fact, it's hard coded, I don't see a way that one could prevent that.

What issue is it that you're seeing with FTP transfers? Are you receiving a particular error message?
