ProFTPd FTP Server and ftp files

ProFTPd FTP Server I need torestart this service manually each time I need to use ftp. It wrks and then the next time I need to ftp to one of the ftp servers I need to login to domain.com:10000 and restart the service again

Any ideas what causes this

Also When I try and write a file to a server directory in ftp, if the file name is already there it will not overwrite it and fail , I need to delete the file then upload the new fle. (using FileZilla)

Howdy,

Hmm, I've never heard of FTP needing to be restarted after using it.

Are you using a VPS, or dedicated server? If a VPS, what kind of VPS is it?

Also, what is the output of this command: free -m

And do you see any unusual errors in your logs after using FTP?
