another ddos tool to consider?

hello wizards -

anybody ever use LOIC ? this article seems to speak pretty favorably about it:

i know absolutely nothing about it - and wanted to get opinions before spending any time looking at it.

Hey, unfortunately yes, we know about LOIC :) (and the others), but it is an ATTACKING tool, not something to defend your servers. So no more advices on this topic pls people!

Looky here, on of my posts http://www.virtualmin.com/node/35202 LOIC was used to test those. And Apache benchmark.
