Webmin & Sendmail [Network Ports] Require SMTP authentication...

hi, maybe you already know: clients on Mac which use Apple Mail as email client... can't send email if "Require SMTP authentication" on the smtp port is OFF...

but if i enable it my server can't receive emails from external relays and neither locally...

how to fix in Sendmail? thanks

can i manage this through the "Spam Control" inside the Webmin/sendmail server options? and how?

i need to:

  • normally receive emails addressed to my local domains/users
  • when my users have to send, they have to insert username/password for smtp...

Just to clarify -- are you using Sendmail, rather than the default Postfix?

yes, Sendmail... if i require smtp authentication i can't receive emails anymore from anywhere outside...

i need to require smtp auth just when MY USERS NEED TO SEND (so only my users can do login to send) BUT this HAS NOT TO block receiving emails addressed to my users on port 25...

can you help me? thanks
