Hi, first to respond will receive hard ca$h to make Virtualmin work. The forum seems a bit slow to reply. Issue is IP and DNS setup.

Take a peak in https://www.virtualmin.com/forum/12 there are a few people detailing their experience and offering this kind of work.

Agreed, if you're interested in paying someone for help with a problem you're having, the "Jobs" Forum is the best place to receive help.

Thanks. I just spent US$125 to Virtualmin support, but no reply yet since 28/09/2014?

Howdy,

Virtualmin just began offering what we call Professional Services.

That is, we can work with you on an hourly basis to assist with general problems and troubleshooting, installation of various services, migrations, or other issues.

We generally need to discuss that with you ahead of time though, as we're not able to help with every issue -- so prior to purchasing the hour of support you'd want to open a Support Request using the "Support" link above, to go over what it is you would like a hand with.

You've already purchased that though -- that's okay, just open a support request, explain what you'd like us to do, and we can discuss whether we'll be able to help.

Don't worry, if for some reason we decide up front that we're unable to assist, we can certainly refund your money.

Open up a support request, and we can talk to you there.

Thanks!

Ok, please help me then Virtualmin. The US$125.00 was paid on 27/09/2014 and I haven't received any support and Virtualmin isn't working.

Hello, I still need help to have emails working at all. Emails haven't worked once and paid support haven't fixed it yet. I have just created an email account which setup a default email. I then logged into Usermin to test sending/receiving emails, but the login username and password aren't accepted?

Well, I fixed Virtualmin's default email settings and now email@domain.com logs in. However email doesn't send out or be received. This worked before for sending email out from Virtualmin. Perhaps the ISPs cable dynamic IP has changed or gmail's rules are blocking gmail.

How can I make Virtualmin allow email please?

I'm sorry that things aren't working properly for you. We've worked with you to fix numerous issues, the majority not at all related to Virtualmin. We put in several hours in the process although you paid for just one.

Some time ago, we also offered to refund your money, which you declined to accept.

As you mentioned in IRC, the most recent issue you're seeing is related to Gmail rejecting your email, because they think it looks like spam.

The error you said you saw in your logs was this:

Our system has detected that this message is 550-5.7.1 likely unsolicited mail. To reduce the amount of spam sent to Gmail, 550-5.7.1 this message has been blocked.

That is an issue with the reputation of your IP address, or domain name. You are not seeing a Virtualmin issue.

That is a difficult problem to correct, but it should be possible. It will take some trial and error.

Someone else recently ran into that, and we offered them some ideas in the first comment here:

https://www.virtualmin.com/node/35415

There are two links to Gmail where they describe that problem, and what causes it. I also posted some suggestions as to how to correct it.

Oh, I wanted to add that you could always route emails through your provider... if they don't require a password, you can configure that in Webmin -> Servers -> Postfix -> General Options, and there you can set the option "Send outgoing mail via host".

Ok, it seems emails are working for now. I tried to Backup to save all the working settings, before anything breaks, however: Backup to local directory /media completes, but no 194.02 MB backup file can be found on my local directory /media?

I also lodged a ticket for the Backup to SSH which doesn't work with a file path with spaces in it. Please help as I need a Backup quickly, before the system breaks and I lose the working configuration for emails on Virtulamin.

Howdy,

We did indeed receive your support request regarding your backup issue. Jamie responded and asked a followup question.

Whenever you have a moment, let him know the answer to the question he asked there, and then he can look into that further. You can see that issue here:

Thanks!

Yes, I replied to that, but Virtualmin is still not working. Someone has a try to make Virtualmin work and it seems fine for a few hours, then it's always down again.

I think the problem is spammers on the forum within the webstie. This seems to cause the virtual server quota to be 276% - 2.76 GB of 1024 MB. So, how do I stop the forum spammers, fix virtualmin without having to rebuild the virtual server.

Well, I deleted the Virtual Server which cleared out the spammers. I rebuilt the server and errors as per www.intodns.com

Error Mismatched NS records WARNING: One or more of your nameservers did not return any of your NS records. Error DNS servers responded ERROR: One or more of your nameservers did not respond: The ones that did not respond are: xx.xxx.xxx.xx xx.xxx.xxx.xx

Error Multiple Nameservers ERROR: Looks like you have less than 2 nameservers. According to RFC2182 section 5 you must have at least 3 nameservers, and no more than 7. Having 2 nameservers is also ok by me. Error Missing nameservers reported by your nameservers You should already know that your NS records at your nameservers are missing, so here it is again:

ns1.domain.com. ns2.domain.com.

SOA Error SOA record No valid SOA record came back! MX Error MX Records Oh well, I did not detect any MX records so you probably don't have any and if you know you should have then they may be missing at your nameservers! WWW Error WWW A Record ERROR: I could not get any A records for www.domain.com!

(I only do a cache request, if you recently added a WWW A record, it might not show up here.)
