PhpMyAdmin 4.2.3 and MySQL 5.1

I'm running MySQL 5.1 (CentOS 6.5) and Virtualmin offered to upgrade PhpMyAdmin to 4.2.3. This version of PhpMyAdmin only works with MySQL 5.5, so I had to revert back to 4.2.1

Is it normal for Virtualmin to offer an upgrade the system isn't ready for?

I believe it is. Two different parts of the system. The part that offered to upgrade phpMyAdmin just checks what version of the script (such as phpMyAdmin, etc.) is installed and if a newer version has been released, advises you an upgrade is available.

I imagined so. But it would be good to have the requirements at least listed on the upgrade page (ideally, there would be a warning)

Howdy,

Install Scripts shouldn't install onto systems that don't meet their system requirements.

I don't think Jamie realized that they added in MySQL 5.5 as a requirement. I didn't know that either.

I'll shoot Jamie an email regarding that, and I'm sure he'll tweak that so that it doesn't offer to install onto systems without that MySQL version.
