Can not authenticate remotely for email.

I have installed Virtualmin 4.06 on a CentOS server.

I have installed Virtualmin 4.06 on a CentOS server. I have set up a virtual domain xyz.com. I have created user 123@xyz.com. When using Thunderbird, I am able to retrieve the install scripts from the server so it tells the program what ports and protocols to use. When I then try to log in, it can not authenticate. error: username or password is invalid.

UPDATE: I did some digging and found th maillog file. I did a service stop/restart on Postfix and Devcot. Here is the errors I see in the file:

Apr 16 13:31:31 server dovecot: pop3(test@test.com): Couldn't open INBOX top=0/0, retr=0/0, del=0/0, size=0 Apr 16 13:31:32 server dovecot: pop3-login: Login: user=test@test.com, method=PLAIN, rip=X.X.X.X, lip=X.X.X.X, mpid=11283, TLS Apr 16 13:31:32 server dovecot: pop3(test@test.com): Error: opendir(/home/XXX/homes/test/Maildir/tmp) failed: Permission denied Apr 16 13:31:32 server dovecot: pop3(test@test.com): Error: mkdir(/var/lib/dovecot-virtualmin/index/test@test.com) failed: Permission denied Apr 16 13:31:32 server dovecot: pop3(test@test.com): Error: Couldn't open INBOX: Internal error occurred.
