during the install for the latest version of phpMyAdmin, 2.11.7; on my RHEL5-based box with VirtualMin Pro/Webmin;
the progress text says [in part]:

when I then navigate in my browser to the phpMyAdmin URL, the login screen appears, with an error message below the uid/pwd input form fields:
"Cannot load mcrypt extension. Please check your PHP configuration."
looked through the Webmin modules etc; didn't see mcrypt listed -- though I did see m2crypt...
the shell command "which" didn't find mcrypt either.
yum list mcrypt drew a blank.
I really like phpMyAdmin; I'm used to its quite rich UI.
