Hi!
I've searched and searched through Webmin (and Postfix configs) but just can't figure this out. Over a week ago I deleted a certain virtual server in Virtualmin. The domain in question no longer points to my server. However, I continue to see daily mentions of the deleted domain in the Postfix section of my logwatch under "Reject relay denied". Is there some vestige of the domain somewhere in Virtualmin that I should delete? I'm just not sure why it continues to appear when the domain no longer points to the server.
Thanks!
No ideas, anyone? I thought domains that are not hosted in Virtualmin should not appear in my logwatch? It still seems very strange... this is the first time a domain I've deleted has continued to appear like this, and its DNS is no longer pointing at my server (and hasn't been for a couple weeks now).
Well, whenever there are no posts (even in a Newbies forum), I know I'm asking a bad question! I can't delete it, so I'll just answer it here in case anyone else is as useless as I am ;) Somehow the "web" had cached the server address even though the nameservers should no longer have been pointing to my server... since they hadn't been pointed somewhere new, rather just the DNS zone being deleted, it would seem traffic still made it to my server for that domain. Unexpected but there you go. Parking the domain fixed it.
Howdy,
It's not a bad question at all, it's just that no one knew the answer :-)
I'm glad that you got it sorted out though, thanks for sharing your solution!
