Running Centos 6.3 I have tried multiple ways to get this to work but mod_deflate just doesn't compress java and css at my site.
I have the module enabled, I have tried to create /etc/httpd/conf.d/deflate.conf and put in:
AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/plain AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/html AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/xml AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/css AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/javascript AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE image/svg+xml AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE image/x-icon AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE application/xml AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE application/xhtml+xml AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE application/rss+xml AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE application/javascript AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE application/x-javascript

I have also tried the same into the end of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
But I just can't get it to work. Any suggestion I could try?
ok, that config file I tried to post into i doesn't show up correctly at all :).
Oh nevermind :)... would be wise idea to clear chrome's cache and start clean session when testing :). Working perfectly.
Solved.
