Just a quick question

Hi there

So far I think I'm liking what I'm seeing about Virtualmin,

I just have a quick question.

For many years we've been working with cpanel and Plesk, and we're very familiar with both control panels.

So my question is, does Virtualmin behave exactly the same as cpanel and Plesk does?

For example, if we sell a dedicated server to a client and we install Virtualmin on it, will he be able to host multiple sites such as:

domain1.com

domain2.com

domain3.com

and of course, all the emails and FTP accounts for those domains as well?

I take it that Virtualmin has its own DNS resolver, correct?

Thank you for any help you can throw at us.

Howdy,

does Virtualmin behave exactly the same as cpanel and Plesk does?

Well, I'm not quite prepared to say that two products behave exactly the same way. Otherwise, there wouldn't be a reason to use one over the other :-)

However, they do compete in the same market -- both are web hosting control panels for shared hosting servers.

You can see some details on the differences here:

Yup!

and of course, all the emails and FTP accounts for those domains as well?

Yup!

During the installation process, the BIND DNS server is installed -- and for every domain setup on your server, Virtualmin adds DNS entries into BIND in order to handle DNS.

Let us know if you have any other questions,
