Cannot enable syslog or syslog-ng

I'm having trouble trying to get logfiles working with Virtualmin. Syslog and syslog-ng are in the Un-used modules list. As I couldn't get syslog working, I tried syslog-ng. I get a similar error from Virtualmin - The system logging daemon syslog-ng was not found on your system, or is not the syslog-ng program. Adjust the module configuration to use the correct path.

I have checked the path and it is correct. What can I do to start to resolve the issue?

System details: Operating system Ubuntu Linux 12.04 Webmin version 1.600 Virtualmin version 3.94.gpl GPL

Howdy,

Hmm, that's unusual, logging should be enabled by default on Ubuntu 12.04, and that should work out of the box with Webmin/Virtualmin

Can you verify that in Webmin -> System, that there isn't an option named "System Logs"? That's normally where the logging can be viewed and modified.
