Is it possible to store all virtualmin data including virtualmin configeration, user data, client data on Amazon RDS?
Can this be st up during the install process.
If Not will virtualmin automatically move the MYSQL data stored on the local server after setting it up to use RDS post installation or would I have to move the MYSQL data manually?
Hi,
Whenever you port your system to use a "remote" database, you'd have to manually migrate the databases to the new server.
We recently setup a dedicated MySQL cluster to offload our "web" cluster, and are doing this "server-by-server" during non-peak hours of the day.
*** Basically, we're stopping services on each server during the early AM hours, backing up, and restoring the databases on the new system, updating Virtualmin configurations, then starting things back up. ***
