Hi I am back with yet another backup issue.
I run two servers with Virtualmin - they have both been backing up locally and to each other for about a year now without problems, but now the one server has some problems.
The server filled up and ran out of space so the backups failed (they failed to delete the old backups, this is ok as this happens some times, so I just delete the old backups and then things are back to normal, but not this time)
The Server is set up to backup all Domains to 2 locations, 1 has strftime-style time substitutions and set to delete every 3 days and the other is only to a location that overwrites every day.
After the backup I get.
"Backup is complete. Final size was 0 bytes."
I have tried to remove and recreate the backup job - it does not work - there are also no errors in any of my logs.
When I remove one of the locations the backup seems to work fine, but when I have 2 locations it does not work at all. Just the "Final size was 0 bytes."'
Any ideas??
Edit: I do think that this problem started after upgrading to Virtualmin 3.96
Howdy,
Are you having a problem with just one of the backups? Or both of them?
If just one -- is it the first or second?
And does it seem to matter if you switch the order?

Hi Eric,
Both end up with the 0 bytes empty backup - I have tried switching them around and removing the job and adding it again - but nothing works - I actually also notice that it will create the first backup as 0 bytes and then not actually even copy that over to the second location... I really have no idea whats going on... I have no just turned to a single location backup and that works fine

Eric,
Any idea where I can start looking at what is causing this problem?
Thanks

@kiteplans - could you post the full backup output from Virtualmin? I'd like to see what it is saving, and to where..
''
@JamieCameron - can I email or PM it to you? I would not like to post my domain names online...thanks

I've marked this thread as private (you can see the key next to your original post) -- that way, only Jamie and I (Virtualmin staff) can see it.
Feel free to post your output here, it'll be safe!

What are your two backup destinations - are they both local, or is one remote? I didn't see any messages about an SSH or FTP transfer in the backup log ..
''
Hey, they are both local - the one that has a local+SSH works fine - but the server with Local+Local does not work at all....
