very large incremental backups

very large incremental backups

I have a setup where I do a full backup on my webservers at friday 22:00 monday - thursday I do an incremental backup.

Most of my incremental backups are nice and small, but some of the incremental backup files are as large as the full backup.

Is there any way to find out why this happens?

Howdy,

An incremental backup includes files that have changed since the last full backup.

Is it possible that a lot of files have changed... or that some of the larger files changed?

No, because it is structural; every day it's a large backup.
