Reseting Virtualmin

I have Virtualmin GPL. How can I reset it to the post-installation screen ? I want all the settings I gave it to be removed and appear like a fresh virtualmin install without having to uninstall/re-install or format the system.

Howdy,

There isn't an option to reset all the settings to the default.

If you'd like to go through the wizard again, you can do that the line wizard_run=0 to the end of /etc/webmin/virtual-server/config, then logging out of Virtualmin and logging in again.

However, that will only guide you through tweaking a few settings, it won't reset all virtualmin settings.

The only general way to have it appear like a fresh Virtualmin indeed IS formatting/reinstalling the system.

The actions Virtualmin performs when you do various stuff with it are way too complex to have a simple "revert to factory defaults" button.

In specific cases, it needs to be done manually and depends on what you did so far. Deleting all domains and restoring Virtualmin config to a backup (if you have one) would be a start.

If you're planning to do experiments and need to revert to post-installation regularly, it's recommended to do so in a virtual machine environment where you can take snapshots at arbitrary points.
