Trusted Referrers & reverse proxy

I'm running a web application firewall (part of Atomic Secure Linux) that uses a reverse proxy to filter all requests to apache AND the virtualmin webserver. After enabling it I got some "please add this IP (the server itself) to the trusted referrers list" which I did, but the message still comes up.

Is there any reason Virtualmin doesnt play well with reverse proxies?
