ProFTP question / problem

I'm using proftpd as my ftp server and I can't log in through my domain name. I can access it when I use the local address the router gives the server. I checked and made sure my ISP isn't blocking port 21 and ran a port scan on my wan address and port 21 is open. I'm trying out smart ftp client. I see in the smart ftp log it says "data connection ip addy:47500" for example not that port number exactly but it's one I've never seen before. Is there another port I need to open or does anyone know of any setting I might of missed? thanks for any help. :)

Howdy,

FTP can be a tricky one sometimes! You may want to try the fix mentioned in the "FTP Services Isn't Working" section at the end of this document, I think that will do the trick for you:
