cloudmin setup

I purchased Cloudmin a while ago but wasn't able to set up, I am now back on the case :o)

Cloudmin is installed on one server and seems fine,
I have another server and tried to Find a Physical System. I set up all parameters, and one system was found as expected.

but I get the following error

server2.biz Not added SSH connection failed : (uid=500(user) gid=501(user) groups=501(user) context=user_u:system_r:unconfined_t HOSTNAME server2.biz OK grep: /etc/webmin/miniserv.conf: Permission denied grep: /etc/webmin/miniserv.conf: Permission denied grep: /etc/webmin/miniserv.conf: Permission denied )

on server2 I see the following ? -rw------- 1 root bin 953 Oct 11 18:56 /etc/webmin/miniserv.conf

do I need to set up anything on the other server to allow Cloudmin to work ?

thanks in advance for your advice

the product is : Cloudmin for Physical Systems

have just set firewall to include port 10001 as I saw that on another thread but no change

Howdy,

Is SELinux by chance enabled on that system? If so, it's possible that's causing problems.

On CentOS-based systems, you can determine if SELinux is running with the command "sestatus".

on the system I have isnatlled Cloudmin it is not enabled

on my second system which I wish to connect to it is enabled.

SELinux status: enabled SELinuxfs mount: /selinux Current mode: permissive Mode from config file: permissive Policy version: 21 Policy from config file: targeted

I don;t get too much into the running of the server so I didn't know whether one has this enabled or not. I don't recall enabling it on one and conversly don't recall not enabling on second server.

I see its to do with security, so should I disable selinux ? if so what impact will that have on current setup

thanks

finally cracked this.
what I was doing was selecting the Login as option and password instead of selecting the option 'Login as root with same password as Unix' even though I thought they were the same they still caused some issue

I now have my two servers and backup server in cloudmin. :o)
