I'm getting a DNS Serverfail with one of my disabled domains (i was doing some testing to ensure my disabled page works correctly). I'm using namebased hosting and IP based hosting, but the virtual server that is disabled is a name based on a shared ip.
It was fine untill the DNS servers for my home ISP pulled the new settings from my nameservers and now the disabled page no longer shows up. Performing a dig on the domain in question resulted in the following
;; Got answer: ;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: SERVFAIL, id: 42117 ;; flags: qr rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 0, AUTHORITY: 0, ADDITIONAL: 0
Suggestions?
Isn't that expected behavior actually?
When disabling a domain, its zone is renamed to "domain.disabled"
If you don't want that: In the Virtualmin Configuration, section "Server Settings", you can choose which features to deactivate when disabling a server.
Thanks Locutus,
I guess I overlooked that part when I set up my virtualmin instance. Got it working the way I want now. This is why we do testing. :D
