Creating a new site

Hello all. I have just setup a Ubuntu 11.04 server and installed Webmin and Virtualmin on it. I can hit the default IP and get the standard "It Works!" message. I now want to create a wordpress site on this. For this , I create a new site in Virtualmin, then upload Wordpress in the newly created public_html folder. When I try to go to WPtest.com, I am just asked if I want to download wptest.com. The script does not run to install wordpress.I tried this with Joomla and am getting the same behaviour. has anyone come across this issue?

Howdy,

Well, Virtualmin doesn't formally support Ubuntu 11.04 -- it only supports the LTS releases, the most recent of which is 10.04.

So, it's possible you're running into a configuration issue of some sort.

If possible, I's suggest using Ubuntu 10.04, which would work out of the box.

If you'd like to try and get 11.04 working -- you may want to review the Manual Installation documentation, as something in there may give you a hand:

You may also want to take a look at the Apache error logs for those domains, in $HOME/logs/error_log, which may contain some useful information on what exactly is failing.
