automatic reply causing mail loop

I'm using virtualmin 3.75

i have setup an automatic reply for the user using virtualmin edit mail and ftp users mail forwarding settings send automatic reply

this is working fine and the reply is being sent back to the sender but if they also have an automatic reply a mail loop starts and the user can receive thousands of emails

please can somone help me stop this loop.

Howdy,

You can avoid a mail loop by going into Edit Mail and FTP Users, click the username, go into Mail forwarding settings, and click "Automatic reply options".

In Automatic reply options, you can set "Minimum time between autoreplies", which would prevent the autoreply from sending an email to the same address.

Thankyou i have set that it seems silly it is not set by default.

If there a way i can default this to say 24 hous?

Sorry, there isn't a way to enable that by default.

I'll talk to Jamie regarding if offering such a feature might be feasible.
