License validation

How often cloudmin tries to validate the license key? An what will happen if cloudmin can't validate the license key? Does cloudmin stop all VMs?

Best regards, Patrick

Howdy,

I'm not sure how often it would check, at least once a day... but software sold here doesn't tend to be "catastrophic" during issues like that. It's likely it would simply prevent you from creating new VM's and getting updates.

We need accurate information on this. Can you say exactly how this is handled?

Licenses are checked daily, I believe, though you can trigger a license check anytime you want.

Licensing issues do not interfere with the normal operation of VMs, under any circumstances (likewise, in Virtualmin, your domains will never be disabled or otherwise impeded due to license errors). Ever. We would never break your world-facing services based on licensing issues. That's just not how we roll.

Updates are disabled after 30 days of license expiration, if you don't renew within that time, and support is suspended for expired licenses. You'll see a red warning box on your Cloudmin Information page if your license is expired or other license issues occurred.
