How to customize your own mails sent to virtual site owners

Hi All

I have been trying to find the customization area where I can change the text, URL etc. for the automatic mails sent out to the virtual site owners. When one of the owners received an email telling him that the phpmyadmin script could be updated it referred to the following URL (example)

https://customerdomain.tld:10000/virtual-server/list_scripts.cgi?dom=1302

Is it possible that the URL could be changed to the servers FQDN instead of the virtual sites FQDN?

(example)

https://virtualminserver01.tld:10000/virtual-server/list_scripts.cgi?dom...

Secondly, where do I change the text for these mails?

Looking forward to hear from you :)

Howdy,

I don't believe it's possible to customize the content of those messages.

However, you should be able to customize those URL's... you can do that by going into System Settings -> Virtualmin Configuration, and set "Virtualmin URL for use in email messages".

What you would put in that field is something like this:

https://virtualminserver01.tld:10000

Hi Andrey

I found the customization page for the "Virtualmin URL" and changed it accordingly.

But I didn't found anything regarding the content itself? It might not be able to change but it would be nice to do it, because some users / customers doesn't thrust in an email which doesn't have any relationship to the hosting provider, us for example.

Does anyone have an idea if that is possible or not?

Looking forward to hear from you :)

Hi Andrey

I just noticed that the administration URL within the creation of new virtual sites still holds the domain URL? Example :

Administration URL : https://www.yournewdomain.tld:10000/

I thought the change in the Virtualmin URL would have overruled such URL as well? Example :

Administration URL : https://virtualminserver01.tld:10000/

Do you know how I change that URL as well?

Looking forward to hear from you.

Howdy,

Those emails are setup in System Settings -> Server Templates -> Default -> Mail for Domain. At the top of the screen there, you'll see "Email message to send upon server creation".

On there, you can tweak the specific text for those emails.

I might suggest using "http://admin.yournewdomain.tld", which is an alias that will redirect to port 10000.

Hi Eric

Thanks for your reply. I have already change it :)

The reason that I wanted to change the URL to https://virtualminserver01.tld:10000/ was because we doesn't have a SSL certificate for each domain created on the server and secondly the user might want to gain access to the admin GUI before the actual domain have been pointed to the new Virtualmin server.

Hi Eric, sorry for poking you :)

I tried to search the web regarding my above question, but I didn't find anything useful. Is that because it is not possible to create a fancy HTML message for the users?

If it's possible, I don't know how to do it :-)

But, I suspect it isn't... sorry!
