ubuntu 10.04 very slow comparing ubuntu 8.04

I replace my old server with a new one and though it's very much CPU and RAM higher, it is very slow.

My old server was Ubuntu 8.04 with webmin/virtualmin, and the new on is now ubuntu 10.04 with webmin/virtualmin.

Are they some bad default values ?

I never tuned my old server for apache or mysql services, so I don't know why it is so slow.

What exactly is "slow"? Can you describe the problem in more detail? What did you test and what was different on the old and new machine?

the older server was a 2 core ubuntu 9.04, the new one is a quad core ubuntu 10.04

Some requets PHP/Mysql render really 2x slower on the new server.
